I am just starting to use DVD Shrink now to backup my DVD's. So far I have backedup 1 DVD and had a few problems. Everything works fine until I get to the encoding process. It seems that it keep locking up my computer during the process. I can't do anything and I am forced to reboot my computer. This makes the whole process a lot longer then it should take. For the first DVD it took me 4 times to finally encode the entire DVD. But it finally worked. Now I am trying to backup another DVD but I have had to restart so many times. I don't know what the problem is I have tried different things and it nothing seems to work. Can somebody please suggest something that I am doing wrong or something that might fix it. Thanks a bunch.

Defragment the hard drive, no multitasking.

Monitor cpu temp while encoding.

make sure you have enough memory open and are not multitasking
shrink has not been updated in awhile
if you follow this guide you should be fine
