<Hehe you mean 0.30d? :P BTW they have a verion 0.30e now
You mean version ?
Anyway it happens to me too, both uploading and downloading. (cable 512/128 kbps (64/16 kB))I have people in my que that have credits to me, when it comes their turn to connect, I see them in the transfers window but they just try to connect for 40 seconds and then drop off again. I like to upload twice my downloaded amount to zero people's credits but for some people I cannot upload at all. I see about 25% of people dropping out of their downloadspot unable to connect when including noncredit people. LowID people are the worst, but there are some HighID people who have uploaded a chunk and downloaded 0 bytes even after trying 7 days, constantly getting to try but not managing, happens only to 3 credit people out of 1000 which is a good percentage. Maybe there is some strange firewall they're behind, at least I can download from them so they might not have both ports correctly configured in their firewall. (I have no firewall) If port 4662 is accessible you can get HighID but what about if 4672 is not ?
Many people drop after being in the transfers window for a while, not being able to connect, happens with friendslot too even tho both clients support secure identification and extended protocols. There is a chance that they have limited their downloadspeed and that prevents their computer from taking any more connections that would more than fill their bandwidth, that idea doesn't seem valid for this poor guy who uploaded me 9 megs and hasn't been able to download a byte for 7 days.
In the Verbose window -used for debugging, there is no mentioning of the attempted connections whatsoever. People in eMule's IRC couldn't help either.
I'm pleased to say I can download a split 1,4 GB movie in 12 hours when it seems to take others about 4 days. That's strange since my max same time speeds are dl:60KB UL:12KB. People who can upload much faster than me still seem to take longer to finish. My 12KB upload is split into 4x2.9 KB uploads. If I set upload speed from 13 to 14 KB, mule always keeps at least 5 people downloading instead of 4 with 13 KB slowing down everyone's downloads from me.
It pays not to unshare files untill people have no more credits on your computer, this way a trade relationship is formed for the future and will continue to get better as the total transfer amount gets larger, making zeroing each others credits much slower and downloads longer.
I don't think eMule's download limit works properly, which I have tested many times. When I'm downloading 60 KB and limit max speed to 64 KB, the download speed will drop from 500 kbps to 350 kbps, about, and happens every time. So I'm thinking max download speed limits number of downloads wrongfully and prevents me from reaching max DL speed by not making a connection when it would be my turn in someone's que, resulting in loss of que position and falling back to the bottom, causing another 26 hour wait to try again.
