ive just bought a ps3 and im trying to connect it to my philips 32pf3320/10 hdtv via dvi. so far its been a perfect connection apart from no sound. i tried to connect the sound through the original av leads that came with the ps3 but this didnt work. my tv has a dvi audio in connection. would i need to go through this or is there anyother way i can do it.

did you change the sound settings from hdmi to rca in the ps3 menu.

i went into settings - sound settings - audio output settings and selected (audio input/scart/av multi). is this what you mean?

DVI doesnt carry audio, grab yourself an optical cable and change settings to suit.

Do you not have optical in on your TV?
Or do you have a surround sound system thats supports?

dvi doesnt carry sound its a digital video interface. If your using a HDMI to dvi cable then youll also need to connect the sound up seperately.

got it sorted. had to connect my 2 sound leads(red and white) to the dvi audio in, using a 3.5mm jack adaptor. thanks to those who helped me.
