i posted this on the dvd x copy platinum board, but haven't gotten a response.

PLATINUM caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:0000000b.

with *every* dvd i try to read (i have tried numerous), after spending 1.5 hrs reading the dvd, it gives me this error above. i ran pc setup, and it confirms that i have the latest driver and it's ready and active (internal revision 15, & also updated to 17). i have tried about 15 reinstalls/uninstalls of the program and of the patin-couffin driver, to no avail.

also, i installed force aspi 4.60 at the recommendation of a dvd x copy moderator. i checked it with aspichk.exe and it's properly installed. i also tried 4.71, with no luck. again, many uninstalls/ reinstalls...

i'm using win98se with 511mb RAM on a 1ghz P3 & a sony DRU-510A dvd-rw drive, and my fists are sore from punching the walls for 3 days straight, and i've totally wasted about 13 hrs trying to get this to work. any help would be of utmost appreciation.

i have posted on there, and gotten 0 responses, and have searched thru the mssg database to find nothing related to this problem.

I don't think you will find many if any xcopy experts on this forum. They are all on the xcopy forum. Most people here don't like xcopy and don't use it since it doesn't seem to be as good as the free stuff (shrink, decrypter,etc) or cheaper stuff (nero, recordnow, CloneDVD, anydvd, etc).
