I'm getting the same out of order with burning DVDs here lately. I'm using DVDFab HD Decrypter, VOB Blanker and DVD Shrink, with Nero 8 on a Vista box, Nero 6 on XP, both burn coasters for me. They play in order sometimes in Windows Media Center.
I still haven't solved the problem. I have tried changing the settings, and someone mentioned burning the files manually with Nero Express, but I don't know how to do this. What files do I select to burn? All of the different file types?

This sounds sensible. I think the setback lies in the irregular link between Nero 8 and DVD Shrink. I recommend using Imgburn instead. Here's the guide.
