Is it possible to get an error after DVD Shrink successfully backs up a movie?

Reading a few topics here, I noticed some people having difficulties with certain movies as DVD Shrink has long stopped being updated. Whenever DVD Shrink can't perform, it always happens during backup. That's when I generally employ ANYDVD (This happened with Pirates 3).
I recently used DVD Shrink to make backups of Ghost Rider and Bone Collector and had no issues whatsoever. I'm about to make copies using Nero Express (which has worked fine until now) but after reading a few issues about Ghsot Rider, it occured to me that it might not burn.
Rather than waste a few blank discs, I figured I'd ask beforehand:
Does a successful backup of a movie using Shrink not exactly mean that it will copy? I played the movie from my HDD after the backup and played fine.

Think of DVD Shrink as the heart or focal point of DVD duplication. Conventionally, we use an application to decode DVD ecryption first. Afterwards, we compress those DVD files in DVD Shrink. And then, we use another application to write those files to a blank DVD media. So, generally hiccups happen in the ripping and burning process. Anything in between could be an isolated hardware or DVD Shrink problem. So, to answer your question, you could possibly still run into some problems during the burning process even if you've successfully ripped and compressed the DVD. My suggestion is to burn those files using ImgBurn, instead of software suites such as Nero and Roxio.

Thanks for the reply fellas. I've only backed up a few of my DVDs as I've only recently been aware of these programs.
For example, I backed up Harry Potter OFTP with no issues and made a perfect copy using Nero Express. Then I decided on Pirates 3. That one DVD Shrink informed me it couldn't proceed at the 28% mark. After searching the forums here, I found that it was common for this title and proceeded to use AnyDVD as was suggested by more than one member here. Again, with ANYDVD running in the background, the title backed up with DVD Shrink without an issue.
I just backed up the two movies I mentioned earlier and noticed that Ghsot Rider was a Sony title. I had read here earlier that Sony title are not very straightforward, but DVD Shrink backed up the movie just fine.
So, I thought that, despite that DVD Shrink backed up the movie correctly, I might still run into an issue during the burning process.
I downloaded Imgburn but I have to build the ISO. I'm not to savvy with these processes as Nero Express seems to do the job directly with no hassle.
I was thinking that rather than use Imgburn, I could delete the movie file and back it up again, this time using DVDFab and THEN using DVD Shrink to adjust the size.
I just thought that if DVD Shrink had an issue with the movie that it couldn't decode, it would let you know during the backuo process, not during the burning process.

@79Eldo, Acquire DVD Shrink configured to auto-burn with Imgburn here. Additionally, DVD Shrink doesn't decode nor burn. It is a transcoder that re-encodes the DVD (in lesser quality) or reauthor it eliminating unwanted extra contents. I'm sure you're well aware of its functionality. It's just a little misunderstanding.

When you say backup, did you mean the backup button in DVD Shrink that starts the encoding process or the actual burning of files? If you use high-caliber decrypters i.e. AnyDVD or DVDFab HD Decrypter (recent versions of course), you should be able to get through the Analysis and Encoding processes in DVD Shrink flawlessly which you did. In this case, you don't need to rip the DVD again. Just open the files in DVD Shrink to compress, and then hit backup on DVD Shrink. On the small window that pops-up, make sure you opt to burn with ImgBurn.

Thanks again for clearing up a few misconceptions guys.
Actually, when I meant DVD Shrink "backs up", I meant the process that it puts it in your hard drive. First the analysis, then the backup, and burning with the appropriate software to complete making an archival copy of one's original DVD disc.
It was in the backup process to the harddrive in which neither movie gave me any issues so this is why I assumed that the burning process would go without a hitch.
My hunch, in the end, was right as Ghost Rider ended up perfectly, using only DVD Shrink and Nero Express.

Right on! Once you get through the encoding process in DVD Shrink you should be able to burn the resultant files on your hard drive onto a blank DVD with no problems. Burn on! :)

Are you doing entire disc or main movie only?
You can also open up dvd shrink,open files,locate that movie folder,and copy away.
Once shrink encodes to Harddrive,99+% you're files are ok. Every once in a while,if you do Main Movie Only backups from highly encrypted movies-Sony/Columbia-then there's a chance it can cause a playback issue after they are burned. Cut out the beginning trademarks using the Frame start-like the trademark of Lady Liberty. It burned me once. During playback on stand alone player,I had to skip to chapter 2,then rewind to the beginning just to get the movie to play on my stand alone player. If I had made 5 copies from my folder,I would have had 5 copies that wouldn't play right.
When you see all the threads about certain Titled dvd's that won't rip entire disc,but will rip main movie-be cautious and cut out the beginning trademarks.
Also Keep the HD/S defragged regularly.
Anydvd/Nero/and dvd shrink is a very good program. It's like a 1 program process for dvd backups.
ImgBurn is my main program for non compressed backups,like DL backups. Very quick ripper,and very aggressive. I also use it on the smaller Dvd-5 movies,a lot quicker than shrink,and not a resource hog like dvd shrink.
In the ever evolving world of encryptions,you gotta have alternative programs to rip.

This here is EXACTLY what my original question was based on, after the encoding process. I guess I worded it wrong is all.
Actually, I prefer the movie with the menus. I really don't want any of the extras but I guess I have to learn to use VOBblanker now so I can omit the sectionsi don't want, and acheive an even better compression for the main movie.
So far, all I do is omit the soundtracks I don't need and custom compress the menus and extras to it's lowest setting to acheive the best compression for the main movie.
VOBblanker looks a little complicated to use thus far.

VOBblanker looks a little complicated to use thus far.
