I hooked my Playstation 3 up with my HP w19 PC monitor.

I bought a HDMI to DVI and connected them both into the correct sockets on my pc and ps3, but the P.C monitor just says input not supported.

Does this mean the cable is faulty or the monitor is not compatible with the PS3 and I will just have to go with a HD ready TV and buy a HDMI to HDMI cable.

It's not HDCP compliant. Basically, you get the same screen on your monitor as if no cable is plugged in, right?

It knows the cables plugged in because that message does'nt show up normally even if I don't have any cables put in there it just shows a 'no signal box' however when i put the dvi to hdmi it just shows 'input not supported'
