I've been using DVDShrink for a while. All of the sudden, DVDShrink started causing a stop error. I haven't changed it in any way. It happens when I try and open DVDShrink. When I double click on the icon, the screen goes blank and the computer reboots. After it reboots, it says your computer has recovered from a serious error. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling from different sources and it doesn't work. The only way DVDShrink works is if I use it in safe mode. How can I fix this?

You might have a corrupt ASPi layer or DirectX problem. Read through this thread and try the suggestions:

Have u changed anything in your pc just prior to shrink not working as added new program or changed OS? If no new OS then maybe system restore is in order.

docmurder,
Try this: Go to Start, Conrtol Panel, System, Advance, Performance Setting, Data Execution Prevention tab and Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:, Add button, and locate/select DVD Shrink to exclude it from the protection. Now, restart your system.

So I tried the Data Execution thing and it did the same thing, just restarted. If anyone needs more information, I can try and get it to help figure out what the problem could be.

Shut off the auto-reboot to keep the PC error screen and then post the details here in full. To do this, go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery Settings, and then untick the auto reboot box.

Try removing the folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DVD Shrink

If Shrink starts to run, it brings up the licence page.

If you have FFDShow, or other codec pack, try uninstalling it.
