i use a sprint wireless 'broadband' card for my internet at home, i use it for my laptop, and i am wondering how to connect my ps3 to my laptop using this connection? anyone has any ideas?

You'll probably need to set up your laptop as a server with an ad-hoc wifi connection to bridge the ps3 to your laptop and thus allow to share your sprint connection.
I'm not certain if this is your only option but if you do use this method or similar you will run into issues with lag due to the bridging of wifi <-> mobile broadband

There is a router that will allow the sprint mobile broadband card to run throughout your home.The router is called Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router,and what you do is plug your sprint card into the router.If you have a built in wireless card in your laptop you can use the sprint internet for your laptop and the ps3.Although I would check to see if your card is compatible with the router.If you would like to look at the router you can find it on this site http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/kr1-router/index.htm which supplies more information on it.This is just another method instead of the one listed already.
