That is not a typo lol:
For the record, AnyDVD, VOBB, Shrink, Decryptor, DVDFab, and Ripit4me have all been unsuccessful in opening/ripping this DVD.
This is what AnyDVD reads it as:
But at least they know to use the good stuff:
This is more of a goof than anything, but has anyone ever seen a file like that?
EDIT: this is what My Computer reads it as lol

So ,you couldn't rip it? Bad burn...

Even though it is on a DVD+/-R, it still had some sort of encryption, hence the 217119MB size and the listed 40 GB lol.
In that VOBB screen cap, the TitleSet goes up to like VTS_85 with the same exact file size you see there.
To get it to rip, I blanked everything, minus 1 VTS. Sure enough, it ripped perfectly.
To answer the question: my brother is in the union and we get screener copies of movies. The only reason I wanted to rip it is to put it all on one disc (the movie was split into 2 discs--that 217119MB disc is just disc 1 of the movie LOL).
I just wanted to put this up because it's funny as hell to see that file size.

Mr P, you may have stumbled onto the next hiccup on encryption.$ony or Lionsgate may use it on a new release and if so, are we gonna get a lot of threads on "Can't copy, file too big 40Gb. Thanks for the heads up on how to do this.

Ha! Good point.
To reiterate then: I opened the disc with VOBB. Blanked EVERYTHING except one titleset (since there were about 80 duplicates) and processed them. For what it's worth, it did take longer than usual for VOBB to process AND Shrink to "open file."

^^ I totally forgot about that with the recent updates Slysoft gave.
Whatever is default, for the AI Scanner, is what I tried it on.

That's awesome! lol I feel privileged to have stumbled onto that first lol.
For the record, again, once you blank the duplicates, it should be fine. I would imagine, however, that when a commercial DVD is released with this encryption (remember, I have a screener copy), it'll be much harder to navigate and/or blank the faux title sets.

Interesting, as it is a Focus Films- Universal release, not normally a difficult studio to back up.

Funny thing tho AnyDVD has fixed it before it's out in the states. LMAO
Another encryption bites the dust. And I got all excited by wanting to try it and never heard of the movie.

Could have sworn 6404 addressed RR but supposedly this beta does
http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6406.exe
Edit: here's change log for 6404: I knew I had read that! But missed untested part! All the fun will be over when US gets it. LMAO

Totally forgot about this thread. My apologies.
Since the movie is now commercially available, I don't feel I need to hide it.
As you can see in the screen caps: TWBB
There Will Be Blood (which, coincidentally, was released today).

AnyDVD and NeroRecode had no trouble with There will be blood. Reservation road was just a hair trickier but no problem either. I have two working discs first try.

The following programs, all updated to the most recent versions, would not work on RR. Anydvd, ripit4me,dvdshrink, dvdfab decrypter and dvdhdfab, what finally worked was Nero recode.
