Nice guide.
I use a similar conversion method with mkv exract gui. One thing I have encountered is that TVersity would unexpecedly make my Vista PC crash. I have since aquired Cyberlink Media Deluxe and it streams m2ts files fine (without renaming). The PS3 see`s it as a mpeg2 2 file, once on the HDD it`s recognized as a AVC file.
Another feature I like about the m2ts file type is you are not limited to a file size (4gb) for playback on the PS3 HDD, and DD5.1 plays straight from the HDD... which I thought was not possible.

Files sizes on the PS3s internal harddrive are NOT limited to 4gb,it has its own harddrive format extinsion and nobody knows what it is.
I think the reason people keep getting confused is because all external drives have to be formated to Fat32,so people think its the same for the internal one,i used to think the same at the start to.
Also cool thread Sudds dude.

By far the best guide i have come across for encoding noobs.
Enjoy!
Yes, you are right. That is a great guide. I remember looking through that before. However, some of the information on that guide is outdated. An example would be that mkv2vob does not allow seeking. This has been fixed now with more recent versions.
Apart from that, this is an excellent guide. Very thorough with pictures included for every step. :-D

Must try that Cyberlink Media Deluxe, currently using TVersity to stream my M2t files and its working brilliant.
I have tried many encoding software in my time and have to say that MeGui is top notch gear.
@Marcusita, did ya get COD4 yet mate?
