I am new at this. I just bought Nero 8 and I was wondering how can I burn or recode a protected dvd for ipod and zune. I'm not into doing anything illegal, everything is for my own personal use. When I bought Nero 8, the retailer said I can convert all most every movie and audio files. I understand there are softwares out there for that but I was told Nero does it all. I asked a friend who works at a PC store who informed me about dvd shrink. I haven't downloaded it yet because I'm reading on it first. So far I haven't read anything about protected dvds and most of you had problems with it. I've also read it doesn't work with Nero 6 so doesn't it work with the latest version? What all do I need for this program to actually work? I have virtual cd in my PC and Nero. Anything compatible or not? Please let me know. Oh, is dvd shrink simply for those protected dvds???? Thanks.

dvd shrink isn't updated anymore so its not the best choice. you need anydvd or dvdfab decrypter to remove the copy protection correctly to transfer to I-pod etc. there are freeware and pay programs the pay programs have a free 21 day trial you can use

CloneDVDmoblie (with anydvd)

http://www.slysoft.com/en/

dvdfab platinum

http://www.dvdfab.com/

or

Intervideo DVD Copy6

http://apps.corel.com/lp/ivi/index.html

look in this forum for the freeware if you want to go that route

The Dvd recorder for the tv. I can hook it up to a dvd player. Copy the movie. Put the Dvd-r in my dvd burner and put it on my hard drive and then convert it to any file. I'm going to read up on it to see if it will work. Doing it the other way is too much and I have to think about getting virus.
