hi i have a 60g ps3 pal version & my uncle gave me a region 3 rush hour 3 blu-ray movie but it wont work..it says region incompatability. is there a way to make it work on my ps3? thanks!

At this moment no, unlike the games, BD movies are region locked.

A backed up Blu-Ray movie should play on the PS3,they can play on stand alone Blu-Ray players,so why not the PS3.
