Help with PSP to PS3 Via Internet

I just got a PS3 and I have it connected with a wired connection from my router. I wanted to know how I can connect my psp to it, remote play Via Internet from my friends house. He has a wireless linksys with no security. I know theres a way, cuz another friend of mines did it before. I used my ID and pass, and signed in. The internet on my psp and ps3 work fine, It just keeps saying: it may take 90 seconds to connect, and then it says connection error. Does it have to do with my router possibly? If not, please let me know how I can do this.

P.S: I can get my psp connected fine with remote play using private network, but I have to be close to it.
