Neeed Help with DVD SHrink and NERO

I am running XP. I have Nero 8 trial version. When I burn a dvd, DVD Shrink runs the process with no error. The burn finishes and will play on my computer, but will not play on my playstation or my dvd player. It's like the dvd was not finished. Any advice?

What's the brand name,model#,and current firmware version of your drive?

What's the brand name,format,and speed rate of your blank media?

Run that backup disc through the pc,use neroinfotool to find that info,and also the MID (Manufacturers Identification) code of your blank media.

Sounds like a compatability issue. Play Stations can be picky,as well as some stand alone players. At least the PC plays it,so should be a simple fix.

1) Booktype your backups to dvd-rom for the highest compatability rate. It depends on what drive you have.Only the plus format can be booktyped to dvd-rom.

2) If unable to booktype,switch to opposite format. Make sure it's quality media like verbatim,Taiyo Yuden.Find the correct format that suits the burner,playstation,and stand alone player. Burn half the rated speed of your blank media. Example: 16x blanks,burn at 8x.

Lots of other things can be the culprit as well: Sticker labels,too fast burn,crap media,certain MID coded media,burn engine,and many more.

Picky players can detect small differences among all those culprits..Usually it's the format.
