DualShock 3 finally coming to US PS3s among other new bundles

At its annual retail and publisher conference Sony America has announced that new PlayStation 3 and PSP bundles will be hitting retailers beginning in April.
They company also announced that the wireless DualShock 3 controller will finally be available in North America starting in April for the MSRP of $55 USD.

I notice that there's now a game bundled with the 80 GB model instead of a blu-ray movie. That?s quite a sudden shift from being primarily a blu-ray player that happens to play games. Not such a bad deal though, I could see this moving a lot of units in the US.

Once, again, Sony people aren't buying your console for the games, because frankly it has a poor selection in comparision to the 360! They are buying it for the BR player, once BR players get below the ps3 price by a certain margin, ps3's will stop selling!
Yes you will have a few epopel goign YAY MGS4, however i reckon these Fb's will probably already have the console, sony should try reducing the price of their console instead of bundling it with more games, which aren't wanted by the majority of PS3 buyers!

Dual shock controllers have set the standard for controllers for a long time now. Everyone has been modifying the dual-analog model since the PS1 days... Gamecube, Xbox, 360. I even bought several converters to use my dual-shock 2 in my xbox and gamecube back in the day.

Actually, most of us don't give a crap if people bought it for Blu-Ray player or for a game machine. As long as they bought it. Hopefully this will mean more games.
So, enjoy your 360 Mr. FanBoy. I hope it brings you joy for years to come. I'm sure it's fun waiting to see if it makes the pretty red ring for you. Not to mention what a treat it is to send the damm thing back to MS and be without it for a month. I can tell you how much fun that was both times it happened to me. What a joke.
Looks like the PS3 is now ready to take off. Sony took their sweet ass time to start making it worthwhile but they're finally doing it. It was shitty of them to make us all wait for this format war to be over before they started putting effort into the PS3. Better late than never I guess.

the 360 has 3 games that are not on other systems..halo and I forget what the other 2 are...
Same for the PS3 with is uber generic JP games,but lets look at a few facts the PS3 is polishing it self up for its poor launch the 360 is still waffling from its lack luster launch high fail rates and disc eating which are still prevalent today with live fees and a raising of XNA dev costs to indie devs.
MS is doing nothing for the consumer in terms of hardware fixes and restrutering fees, Sony is only getting better at the same time the 360 is feeling its age from begin a frankenconsle.
IMO sony has roughly the same rep as MS IMO, now the PS3 has started to gain rep despite my loathing of it and the well known mishandling of the PS3 start.
Altho I hope that more games are released on PC even if they are crappy ports, I am staying away from console gaming since fun is 3rd to "art" and realism....
I hope the PS3 gets a cheat device I'd pay 5/mo 50/yearly to be able to enjoy the games I buy.

Actually your wrong. The fail rate has not gone down or it went down very little. I work part time for a Gamestop and they get calls daily for returns or we refer them to send it back to Microsoft. They are sent back old or new. Doesn't matter.
And since you had to be rude about it.....Now that you know how to get to the Google web site it's time to learn how to use it. Shouldn't speak unless you know what you?re talking about.

I own all three systems and i have really hard times finding good games for the Wii and PS3. All Xbox 360 games seem to kick ass for some reason. Wii titles are all the same mini game bull and Playstation 3 has barely any exclusive titles.
Zippy you're thinking of Gears of War and Mass Effect. Those are the other 2 games.
Oh yes the red ring will appear. I've seen the ring of death and it's not pretty.

Ya the PS3 has a slow growing library but it will overtake the 360 in months simply because MS can not buy out enough publishers to keep stuff on the 360.....
Both GOW(out now) and ME(may 6) are on PC...even Turok(next month,on PS3 as well) is on PC or will be this year.
My point being the main 360 titles are on PC even if its a mixed bag and some are buggy ports (bioshock,GOW) ME will have polished controls and graphics and even buggy PC ports can have trainers to make them enjoyable as well as default mouse and kb support.
Its time MS unlocks the 360 thats the only way to make it a good system, unlock the USB pipes so you can move saves and files to USB equipment, unlock the HDD, make streaming more versatile and for gods sake make it support most brand name wi fi devices....its time to free the 360 from software and hardware tierney.
the PS3 needs to grow some more before we cull it :P

im amazed that for once a company has bundled a killer title which surely more than just a few gamers will want. usually bundles are pathetic, prices skyrocket, but if this holds it would be the first time (to my knowledge) where we see a killer title bundled BEFORE it already had its glory days. not to mention the upgraded controller.
i dont think there are going to be two $499 ps3 versions one with MGS4 and one w/o. it'll be interesting to see how parents react to having a bundled "M" rated game. i expect MGS to carry the M tag.
personally i think the game, console, and wireless DS3 more than justify the price tag. the fact that blu-ray come out on top only sweetens the deal.

As a current owner of a 360, I've been putting off purchasing a PS3 'till MGS4 and GT5 were available, 1 out of 2 is enough for me, plus the addition of the DS3! I'm sold :)

i'm tired of the 360 fanboys whining that there isn't enough stuff for it and jus crying altogether..
well whatever we got DS3 now.
and the bundles seem nice, not so much the MGS4 one but i'm sure people are just as interested in buying it.

I am soooo buying a ps3 in april! doesnt the DS3 vibrate in 3D? like if you are playing cod 4 and you get shot on the right side it shakes on the right, thats what I heard. Both the 360 and ps3 are good but the 360 was not ready hardware wise when it was released and the PS3 wasnt ready
software wise. I miss my 360 but will be much more satisfied when I finally get a ps3 with MGS 4
