Can DVDFab or Shrink Corrupt a good disc and cause a problem with play back?

Just purchased 30 days of night, as soon as I got home attempted to back up with DVDFab (latest update).
Fab couldn't analyze entire movie and I had to abort.
I then viewed purchased disc and it froze near the end of the movie.
My question is could my attempt to back up in some way corrupt the original disc and cause it to freeze ?

In short...NO. All you're doing trying to copy a movie is reading it, just like a standalone player reads it, and copying the information to the pc as it reads.

BTW: This title was a breeze, just run it through Shrink or Decrypter.
