Cant play movies on PS3 while downloading

After spending many hours figuring out the best way of getting HD content on the PS3 I finally settled on red kawa file server to take my PS3 compliant H.264 video (THANKS TO RYU77'S THREAD http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/621809)
and download it to the PS3

With Red Kawa I was able to download the file, and see it in my PS3 download section. but there is no option to play the file while its downloading. when downloading movies from Playstation store there is the option to view the movie while it downloads. Why cant I do this with red kawa.


IS there any file server that will allow me to do this?

and no I dont want to use tversity or any streaming program to stream HD material over wirless because wi-fi just doesnt cut it for HD.

It actually depends on your hdd rpm, 5200rpm minimum, and defrag it regular, or download I/O BITS DEFRAGGER, set your time and duration and it will keep your hdd running smooth, you shouldnt have any trouble streaming.
Convert to M2TS files, and you can keep your surround sound audio.
But to answer your question, no, you cant watch with red kawa file server, as it doesnt actually transcode your movie stream.

Thanks Sudds I will try your suggestion. So in Tversity you set it to "never transcode" for HD material?

Well I moved all my file to a another hard drive which was just formated
but whenever I try to stream HD content from tversity over wi-fi there are to many stutters and pauses for it to be watchable. I am sure over wired it will work, but I am afraid that HD over wi-fi is just not possible with tversity. If there was an media server that had a longer buffer it might work.

Depends on the speed of your hdd, 5200rpm minimum.
Clean your disc then defrag it, i have i/o bits defragger constantly on watch, keeps the hdd running top end.
