I have burned quite a few movies in the past ...useing dvd-decrypter, any-dvd, ripitforme, clone-dvd. Decrypting the movie has really never been a problem....its shrinking the dang thing ..I have been using dvd shrink...but haven't got a movie to shrink in ages??? and its really pissin me off...( way behind in burning movies) I've tryed other shrinkers...a4dvd shrinker, amok shrinker..but I can't get those to work either...Are alot of the movies coming out now putting in codes that make it impossible to shrink them???? I have been messing with VOB blanker but still new to it ....I have a external sony double layer burner... WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG?????? ANY help in this matter would be great and THANKS to all You pros that can help!!!!

Welcome to the forum. In DVDShrink are you setting the size to Custom 4350. Look under Preferences and set Target size to the above. Advise if that works
if your transcoding with dvd shrink you need to rip the movie with dvdfab decrypter first or use clonedvd 2 + anydvd together. use this thread for the best most up to date method for backing up your DVDs

Thanks for Your help Carmike I set it to 4350 still nothing it starts to shrink it the when there is like 20 sec left it will freeze...and a error page pops up and then it shuts down when I close the pop up box ??????

Are you ripping the DVD to the HD first using DVDFAB HD Decrypter as that was in the info ZoSoIV posted? After the rip to the HD you can then use FixVTS(free) to correct any structural problems w/ the files

Is the program or computer shutting down?
What is the exact error message that pops up?
Hi carmike , yes I am pirring it first with dvdfabhd decrypter ....then I try to shrink it with dvd shrink...the error message is "cycle redundancy" and its the programm that shuts down I will try the fixvts see if that helps at all...again THANKS for Your help ...I hope to get burning soon ...THANKS

Usually when you get that error it is because the DVD ( original source disk) is bad or dirty. If you are getting these from new blank DVD's then the blank media is bad. What brand of blank media are you using??
Are you doing Movie only or the Whole disk? I would suggest you try Movie only

The dvd is dirty or bad do You mean really "dirty" like smudges and grime...finger prints??? I get the dvds from blockbuster...they decrypt fine does that not matter? I have a brand of blank dvds called "imation" dvd+r 16x 4.7gb 2hrs ... I did the whole movie at first then figured it might be to big so I did just the main movie didn't make a difference ..The movie I am trying to burn is "transformers" also "american gangster" maybe others have had problems with these... but it seems whatever the movie is it woun't shrink...I tryed to "fixvts" it but it did the same thing in shrink all though it got a little futher than recent trys...Hey THANKS so much for helpin Me but I'm close to giving up again like I did before for like 3mo but I want to copy alot of the movies coming out but I can't....Its driving Me crazy I hope You don't give up on me ...AGAIN THANKS
