SOMEONE please help! I spent 7 hours lastnight trying to figure this out and still, i'm so lost! I downloaded dvd shrink and dvd decrpyter to my vista laptop. I also created a new folder for the dvd i was going to burn. So DVD shrink analyzes it and the dvd decrypter opens first and decryptes the movies. (encodes it) when it's done doing that what do I do next? Nothing happens after that? How do I fit everything onto one disc? Please help, this is so frustrating! I need step by step. I already downloaded everything. I tried burning the movie by using Roxio but that didn't work! I'm using a laptop so I cant burn with 2 dual layers. New to this!

Ditch DVD Decrytper as it is an antique, then get DVDFab HD Decrypter and follow this guide:

http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Guides/alkohol_guide1.html

Nine times out of 10 you can skip the VobBlanker/FixVTS step and go straight to DVD Shrink. Finally burn with Imgburn.

All free programs.

You are very welcome and it's not frustrating at all, it's all about holding your mouth just right (tongue hanging out of right corner etc).

ok so I was able to burn my first DVD lastnight thanks to you! I honestly really can't even tell you how the heck I did it. Hahahaa It takes forever though. Is this normal. First I decrypted it and that was 25 min, then I had to shrink it and that was 15 min and then I had to burn it and that was about 15 min. Just wanted to make sure this was correct and the steps I took was correct.

1)decrypt
2)shrink
3)burn

You are able to shrink in 15 minutes? That's very fast. Do you use Deep Analysis / Smooth for the quality settings? My dvds take between an hour and hour and a half encoding when using those settings.

And thanks Locoeng about the tip of hanging your tongue out of the right side of our mouth. Stupid me always hung it out the left side.
The right corner is so much better.

If speed is what you want, then you want a fast dual or quad core computer.

BTW burn at no more than 1/2 of the rated speed of the discs. This is a process that can take about 15 min and no matter how fast a pc is, it will not change (burn speed)

BUY ? It's all about the freeware ! Anyway, what iluvendo said, the speed is not in the software - it's CPU $$$$. I just decrypt disc with DVD Fab ( about 10 minutes ) then, just before bedtime I start Shrink and then disc is burned while I sleep.

Whether you think you can or you think you cant - either way youre right

theres two programs clonedvd 2 + anydvd or dvdfab platinum, both have free trial before you buy. I use clonedvd 2 + anydvd mostly and it will do shorter movie in about 10 to 12 mins total and longer movies in the 20 to 25 min range. heres the links to both programs
