Just plug the ethernet cable from the modem into the back of the PS3.

What modem do you mean? Im sorry if i sound a little confused. Its because im a newbie at this and have no computer lol. Could you please give me a step by step process of how to get this going? Id greatly appreciate it

Since your new to this I'd suggest getting a Dlink router, they're alot less fussy out of the box.

Anyway your going to need to find your highspeed modem, its going to look something like this:




From there you have to run an ethernet cord from the modem to the router's internet port.

From there you just have to turn on your PS3, go into network settings and then go under internet connection settings. Go to custom then select wireless > scan > then select your wireless network (most likely named Dlink) then just keep going right until you cant anymore and hit X to test the connection. After that hit circle to get back to the PS3's xmb and presto your PS3's internet is setup.

hello people of afterdawn i have tried every where for help and cant find help any where wondering can any body help with my problem i have eircom broadband for my laptop and a usb adapter for my playstation3 i can get into the playstation store on my console but cant get to play a ranked or unranked match online against my mates it sometimes lets me flick threw the times and sometimes wont let me do any thing the game is fifa2008
