When you use dvd shrink, output the file as hard disc folder, not Iso image. Then you can play the hard disc folder w/o problems.

I would recommend you find an app that lets you mount the image to a virtual drive. Then the computer thinks you have the DVD loaded onto an optical drive. You can then view with your DVD program of choice. Windows Media Player 11 will open DVD's.

I use PowerISO to mount my .iso images, but there are a lot of them out there. Alcohol 120% is another. Check out Download.com for trial or freeware apps for DVD's if yo don't like WMP.

Cheers!

This is the way to go.

YES.
If you choose to mount the image, the contents displayed are a VIDEO_TS folder and an empty AUDIO_TS folder. The contents in the VIDEO_TS folder are your video files that you should be able to play on your computer.

The easiest thing to do is to follow iluvendo advice and have shrink save the video files to a hard disk folder on your hard drive for viewing (it's a lot easier than mounting the image).

ya but after that how do i read the files when i click the ts files it says
"windows cannot open this file:
file: VIDEO_TS.BUP
To open this file,Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs that are installed on you computer.

What do you want to do?

O Use the Web service to find the correct program
O Select a program from a list of installed programs "

also i used poweriso to mount the img file to the new driver it created(kind of freaked me out at first) but it doesn't play the movie when i double click it all it does it open it and then right back to that screen up there? help

In view of the fact that you already have an ISO image file, you have two options:
1. You can unwrap the ISO image file in DVD Shrink, and watch the movie using its built-in Default System Renderer.

2. The second and probably the easiest way is to acquire either VLC or MPC. These particular media players can play ISO image files straight away.

Lots of choices, but here's one more that works quite well.

A very good free app that will play just about anything is media player classic, no istallation required, just run it. Run the app and browse to the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in the VIDEO_TS folder and click open/ok. The movie should play as if you had a DVD of it in your drive.

EDIT: MPC was mentioned.
