I have managed to convert a mkv file using tsmuxer, hex editor and bdedit. I get picture when played thro my ps3 but with a nice green bottom to it, like a letter box.
I have used change codes in hex editor but they don't seem to be the correct ones for the PS3 as they were tested on standalone players.
All I need is the codes needed for the ps3, so I can play them at full screen, without the annoying green bottom.
If anyone has any ides let me know. Thanks
Get yourself mkvtoolnix and mkvextract, both can be found on this site.
Use MKVextract to extract the raw video/audio files... I'm assuming the video is h264???. Once you have those mux them using TsMuxeR, IMPORTANT: if the h264 level is not 4.1 or lower make sure you change it in TsMuxeR before you mux. Mux to m2ts container, resulting in a fully compatible ... no green bar... video file.
BTW, if your audio file is DTS there are compatibility issues with the m2ts container. Use eac3to/eac3togui to convert DTS-->AC3, kinda sucks but it must be done.
Thanks for that.
I noticed that some of the DTS ones can have compatability issues, but most of mine are AAC and AC3 anyway.
I messed about with it yesterday, testing a few things and used the M2TS way of converting and tried it on my ps3 and it all worked fine, no sync or slow down issues at all.
I will use that for a while until I can find software to make a blu ray disc, but for now I aint to bothered about it.
Thanks for your input :-D
Try Sonic Scenarist v4.2, Blu Ray creation software. Very technical stuff, not very user friendly... but apparently the end results are immaculate. It's professional grade software, I'm in the middle of trying to figure it out myself... not much time though.
I will check that one out and see what I can do with it. If I find anything out before you I will put it down in here for anyone who might want to use it etc.
