What is going on with the Ps3's my buddy just got his a couple months ago and already had to change the laser will sony ever get there crap together??!!!!!!

The laser crapping out only really happened during the earlier 2.00-2.10 firmware versions, it was rumored that Sony fixed it in the 2.17 update.

Are you for real? The PS3 & Wii have an industry acceptable 3-5% hardware failure rate where as the 360 is close to 30% or more...and yet you say Sony needs to get their crap together? Wow....

My launch 60 gig along with everyone else on my friends list still have working PS3s. I say they have their s@!t together.

Nobody I know and I personally know about 10 people who own PS3's have had theirs crap out on them. Not ONE thing wrong with them. What does that tell us eh? :)

That?s 11 people you know my son had his for about 6 months no problems with it not being a gamer myself I must say I quite like it might start playing it myself :)

I understand what this guy is saying, i have had 2 ps2s mess up, laser issues, (disc error) this is a higher technological piece of equipment that might be just as bad. Soon i will find out when the prices go waaaay down.

just because you 11 ppl haven't had any problems doesn't mean they don't exist i have had several ppl say they have had to take there's back or get it worked on............so there is a glitch somewhere there has to be!

My family must be really unlucky. Im on my 3rd PS3, my sisters on her 2nd.
But since I got my 3rd one it works perfectly, so does my sisters 2nd one, so no worries. (-_-)
Also im gonna do continuous play soon, so if my ps3 runs out of warranty they have to replace it. Not bad for a fiver a month.
