Latest Anydvd 6.4.2.2 updates states new structural protection found of NT 2 Book of Secrets for R1 US discs. Their update is supposed to neutralize the new protection.
Need to see an update for DVDFAB to address this new problem

Backed up Untraceable with DvdFab Platinum 5.0.2.0
No trouble.
I did however get a bad press of 27 Dresses which really didn't upset me that much. :) *shrugs* The Lady wants it.

Untraceable was extraordinarily easy. The latest AnyDVD, prior to yesterday's update, in my usual DVD process, worked.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

She wants to see that one too. I'll watch them, afterall she's gotta sit through some of my type movies. It's nice to hear that i might not dislike them as much as i'm anticipating. Lol. Thanks for the heads up Scott.

I don't get National Treasure until tomorrow and am confident anydvd can handle it. Untraceable was easy as pie, and a good movie-in the Saw genre.

RipIt4Me was able to handle this one. It will complain about the disc being dirty or scratched. It will ask you if you want to re-rip the files. Answer no and continue with the cleanup.

No they do not!
As far as DVDFab 5.0.2.0 goes, it will do the movie but not as clean as RipIt4Me. You need to process the full DVD through FixVTS.

I'm in agreement with Dialysis here. Dvd Decrypter and Dvd Shrink do not "work this one fine"
I got it backed up with DvdFab, but as stated, i also ran it through FixVts before transcoding and burning.

An easy test is to check the compression sizes before and after using FixVTS. If no cleanup was needed the sizes would be the same.

Ripped to HDD with Anydvd 6422. No Probs.
FAb 5020 did not work (ripped twice on same disc) both times finished with only 1.5 Gb file
Others here backed up NT2 OK with Fab. I can't
I wonder, do the studios put out more than one version of a disc in a region ? As 2 or more variations of protection on 1 disc (movie title) just to throw off the dvd backing up community ? I mean, the people in the copy guard business have access to these fora too. They just lurk. Or am I just paranoid ?

I backed up National Treasure 2 using "Rip it for me". I only had the dirty disc error which I ignored.
I also only backed up the Main movie and the menus. The back up plays smoothly.
