I followed everything properly changing the level to 4.1 and all. I had them split with tsmuxer to 3.9gb for the first file and the 720mb for the 2nd file that way they would fit on my usb stick and play on the ps3.
My ps3 will recognize and play the smaller m2ts file but not the larger first file of the movie. I get the "unsupported data" when it's viewed and "data corrupted" when I try to play it. Why is this? I have the latest ps3 firmware and it should play files up to 4gb in size right? Could someone please help????
I've been running into this problem with everything when converting various mkvs. I've also tried mk2vob using all 3 codec choices(mpeg-2,xvid,h.264) and the same thing happens with all of them, only the smaller files will play. Please someone respond... thanks!
hi there, could you tell me how you figured this out?
id like to convert my mkv movies to the bluray structure using tsmuxer...but an 8.2gb mkv becomes 8.8gb bd so too large for dvd9.
converting to mpg makes a smaller file but not sure if there is any loss in quality. id also like to know if there is anyway of keeping the dts audio as tsmuxer converts to ac3.
btw..you no longer need to change the video level to 4.1.. the lastest update on the ps3 handles 5.1
I also have a few movies that will be too big for DVD9 once converted to m2ts. I was planning to recode these with meGUI to get them down to DVD9 size and add black borders to make them 1280x720 for AVCHD (this will allow you to keep DTS and have switchable subtitles). Which update included level 5.1 playback? I'm gonna try a sample in 5.1 to check, good news if it's true! not only will it mean that there is one less step needed to convert video for PS3 but it also means they are actively improving the PS3s media playback!
