the problem might actually be if ur using a manual IP address it probably is affecting the computer(s) with their IP addresses. try setting the IP address to automatic on ur psp. that should fix the problem...

try reseting the computer that the modem and router is connected to, and if that does not work, unplug the cables to the modem and router, plug them back in and let me know if that works. if not just put a post and I'll see if i can help anymore. it could be that a cable is unplugged...

u know what if u still have the manuals for them, look for the troubleshooting section and see what problem sounds like urs and try to fix it. it should be something like..."my device cannot connect to the internet" or something like that.

lol you can do a simple little thing that may help set the ip manualy
to find the ip - http://whatismyip.com/
then scan and enter wep key if you have one then go to manual ip setup and enter it in see if that helps
you may also need the dns addresses as well but im not sure.
another couple of things you can do is
1) disable any proxy that you may be using
2) make you ip address static (doesnt change)
3) reset the ip address
they may also help
if you can access the information about the router connection i.e dns ip wep key all that stuff try setting it up manualy and see if that fixes it.
its something very simple that just needs to be change to fix it

I GOT IT!! disable the internet connection on ur computer. its on the bar down where the time is. then re-enable it. if that doesn't work, open the menu for it and click repair. that fixes most problems...

@ Hack4Life no offense or anything but didn't he say that he was using a router which means that restarting his computer or repairing the connection will do nothing?
@chiqano13 If you try everything in this thread and it still doesnt work can you please supply us with the brand and model number of your router

well first of all if u know anything about modems and routers its that they get their power from the computer. u see that plug going into the wall? that would be the internet connection plug. when u restart a computer it also resets everything connected to it, therefore reseting and restarting the modem and router, and thus probably fixing it. and by repairing connection, its that option when u open up the router's menu on the computer, repairing it, makes it disable, and re-establish a BETTER connection. thats why i told him to do these things... xP

really? I was under the impression that the routers got their power from the phone line and AC Mains. When you click repair connection in Wireless Zero settings down the bottom on your pc it just resets that particular computers connection with the router but the connection to everything else remains unchanged. If you went into your routers settings and clicked restart then the router would restart and therefore the connection would get reset. however if you are using a wireless card or a usb dongle as a hotspot it does draw power from the computer and therefore what you said would work.

Before any real definitive progress can be made in resolving this issue we need to know what kind of router and setup chiqano13 is running.
Other wise we're just guessing.
BTW my wireless router plugs in my domestic ac supply.

no thats not the problem.
if you go to the site to find your ip add is
the put your ip add with http:// into the address bar
e.g http://253.253.253.253
this should load up the router from there you can change many different options have a look at the ip bit.
iv never realy used net gear but i know that you need to put the ip in to access it like i said above.
also with net gear it has a password and username if it hasnt been changed it should be on the bottom of the router.
have a good look around options and change a couple of thing see if that helps

hi there. i had similar problems when i first trying to connect my psp to the net. i have a dlink wireless router which is a 802.11g. i beleve the psp, phat for me, is based on a 802.11b wireless standard. my router, when new, was defaulted to 'G' mode. i got to set my router to a mixed mode, meaning both b and g devices can access the router. treat your psp as a wireless adapter.
to quickly access the net via your psp, turn off the security for the time being, save a time setting up the psp network. change your router to mixed mode and not g mode. you should be able to connect to the net. after which you setup the security for your network. hope this helps,

did you type your ip into the address bar at the top of your web browser making shure it has http:// before it.
then you will be able to access the options of the router if you have a browse around you should find the information like the dns e.t.c
