Hi guys, first post so please be gentle. I have a problem with dvd shrink 3.1.2. The encoding is fine and the burn process gets to 99% and the comes up with
"Burn failed couldn't write disc-at-once" or similar.
The same will happen if I let dvd shrink create the image and then open nero to do the burning myself. All the files will play back fine in Power dvd from the hard drive. This happens every time on different types of media. I am using Pioneer 106. Thanx in advance for your help/advice.

Hi, I have a similar problem to you: I successfully use DVD Shrink then I use Nero 6 to burn the VIDEO_TS files. Everything works until it tries to burn the DVD-R by Panasonic 4x on a SONY DVD.
What media do you use to get to 99% and could you please give me a detailed list of instructions for burning the DVD in Nero - whatever version it is, it would be helpful to both you and me. If you have sorted it out would you please let me know anyway. Thanks!

I have got it sorted now, too much junk on the pc, did a system restore and got rid of a lot of progs leaving just shrink Nero and xpress and all is well. I use Mirror Platinum dvd-r on a pioneer 106. As for info on how to burn there should be a tutorial on here or vcdhelp.com.

Thanks for that useful reply. Before I installed the DVD driver, I needed to reinstall the OS anyway (crappy Windows ME - cause it needs reinstalling every 8 months).
I think Nero is a very complicated and cleverish utility but when it kicks up a fuss, it doesn't half know how to throw a strop.

Hi guys. :)
This hasn't been confirmed, but apparently the discs Nero throws this error with are actually playable. ;)

The same happened with my disks in Nero 6 U.E. It was telling me that it was unable to write to disk properly. I've solved a lot of my probs by reinstalling Windows ME, again! I've had no more error notices and it's running very smoothly now.
I wonder why it wouldn't do as it was told in the first place. I've got an idea it's something the do with having too many DVD ripper progs and your PC and causing driver conflicts. I would just use DVD Shrink and Nero 6 U.E. These are the only progs you need.

windows ME...arrghh.
lemme quote from this pcmag article
MM = Michael Miller (interviewer)
MD = Michael Dell (CEO of Dell)
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,1501767,00.asp MM: You're still selling, obviously, Windows 2000 to a lot of corporate customers.
MD: Oh yeah.
MM: But the mix is changing now, you think, in the corporate space?
MD: Yeah, XP continues to grow. You don't see a lot of new migrations that are going to 2000.
MM: It's an interesting market, because there are so many companies that stayed on 98 for so long, and basically all corporate customers skipped Me, as far as I could tell.
MD: Which was a pretty good call.
MM: I think we can all agree that was a pretty good call.
MD: I went over to a friend's house the other day. He was having problems with his computer and he asked me to look at it, and I realized he had Windows Me and it's like, oh no?that's your first problem.

Yep, I try to help wherever I can.
I've been slowing down though, there are more and more DVD-Shrinkers more knowledgeable than me (not hard to be). ;)
