Just copied 2 movies using DVD Shrink. When I put the copy in my Panasonic DVD player, the machine display showed NO DISC. It also locked up the EJECT system, and I cannot remove the disc. I tried the second copy in my other Panasonic DVD player, and it also locked the EJECT system. Is this a coincidence, or was there something on the discs that caused this? I have consulted my DVD manual, and the Panasonic service center, regarding resetting the machine, but nothing has worked. I have used this DVD Shrink several times before with no problems. Any ideas???

What's the name of the movies?
Shrink has nothing to do with this. What program did the burning?
Please the log file.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

As ususal the regulars are right on.
This is not a Shrink issue, it's a burn or media issue.
More info would help sort this one out.

Have to agree here. Most likely bad media. Thats why I use Tayio Uden disks.

I have a couple older Panasonic dvd players and they are notoriously fussy.
Using good media is always a good idea, and also pay attention to the +/- format.
My players prefer the - format but like I said,my players are older.

To add a little to the good advice by Jim Dandy...if you're going to use the +R's...booktype them to DVD-ROM for the widest compatability.
Use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

The two movies that I was copying were Bella and Season 4 TV Series Northern Exposure. My blank discs were Maxell DVD-R's, which I have previously used successfully. I am using DVD Shrink 3.1, which I have previously used successfully.

The most current version of Dvd Shrink is 3.2.0.15
Get it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_.../dvd_shrink.cfm

Maxwell blank media is outsourced --like so many others -- to different manufacturer's then they simply stamp their name on them. It's possible to have spindle's next to each other on the shelf that have different MIDs. (manufacturer i.d.) Most of them are still dodgy media and that increases the chances of bad burns or coasters, or degradation over a short period of time, as well as playback problems.
Again, your best bet is to use good quality blank media.
EDIT: And you still haven't told us what you're using to burn!

My burner is a Sonic RecordNow version 7.22. This was preloaded when I ordered my HP Pavilion laptop. I have used this system numerous times before, successfully. I'm not that familiar with the burner, or the DVD Shrink, or the DVD blank discs, so I was hoping to find out which one of these was the culprit, so I don't make the same mistake again, once I have my 2 DVD recorders repaired. Thanks for everyone's help.
