dvd shrink encoding time approx 24hrs

Hi I have just done a recovery on my computer and have installed clone and anydvd and now shrink. When I backup the encoding process is slow and say approx time is over 24 hours. I have no idea what has caused this to happen it is unusable. I do not have nero installed. I am not very computer literate so would appricieate a step by step if anyone can help or has had this problem in the past.

your optical drives are probably in PIO mode they need to be in DMA mode,heres a guide to fix it

I have opened up my comp then properties what next?

go to device manager and uninstall the IDE controllers ,reboot and windows should reinstall them correctly

didn't work, I have 2 lots of drivers ie 2 of the first and 2 or the second, i uninstalled them and nothing has changed. Would there be any other reason for this problem? I had a dvd burner installed and as the computer has gone back to it's factory settings would it be recognizing 2 burners?? thanks for your patience with me.
