That's right, u need to downgrade your psp. The only way is to be using pandora's battery
To downgrade (and get a custom firmware) or unbrick your PSP, u need the Pandora's Battery. There is three ways to get the Pandora Battery.
1. Find a someone who has a Custom Firmware that is willing to let you borrow their psp. You will use his psp to softmod the battery. Meaning using software to make the Pandora. If you willing to do this, follow this guide:
GUIDE
2. Hardmod the battery. Meaning that you have to open that battery up, and pulling out a pin. Note that if you pull the wrong one, your battery would be messed. If you are willing to do this, follow this guide
GUIDE
3. The most safest way, is to buy the DATEL tool battery. It is already a premade pandora battery. If so, follow this guide or use the same guide on the second step.

(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10

While doing a search for firmware 3.95, I came across this post. Here is my question;
I have a slim PSP with CFW 3.71 m33 (it was installed using a pandoras battery). I have all of my games saved onto a memory card, and that is how I play my games. I just bought Tiger Woods 09. I noticed under the game heading that an update to version 3.95 is available, apparently on the UMD.
Should I, or do I need to install this? Or just leave my firmware at 3.71? Will it affect my ability to copy my games onto my PC and then onto my PSP?

then upgrade to 4.01 M33 with this guide. Dont upgrade to official firmware if you want to play games on the ms.

not unless, the UMD requires a new firmware.

nope... well not Tiger Wood 09, as you need the 3.95 Sony Firmware, you can however, and make sure that this is selected problery in the recovery menu. download the M33 teams, 4.01 M33-2 CFW, just follow this,
Settings->Network Update->Download update(Should be 1mb if it's M33, if it's more then it's from Sony, DONT DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL IF FROM SONY. ->Download(if 1MB)->Press X(or O) to install
A black screen will appear and download the 4.1 sony update, then press X and it will install, don't worry it looks like a sony updater but it isn't,
Then you can play Woods 09, Happy Days

lehart, thanks for the info (even though it is very confusing to me; I paid someone to put the CFW on my slim PSP).
So far I have been able to play TW09, but not in adhoc mode with my coworker who is playing it using the UMD. The games start on both PSPs, but just as I am about to tee off on the first hole, it loses the connection.
Is what you are saying is I need an updated CFW, as in 4.01 M33-2? Is a pandora battery needed to do this even if I have a CFW now? I would guess that I do.....

if you already have M33 then just turn off your PSP, (NOT STAND-BY)
Then Hold the R Trigger and turn on the PSP whilst still holding it.
goto Configuration then goto
"Use M33 Network update (Currently........) make sure that is ENABLED. if not enable it. Then click back and exit.
Your PSP will now reboot, goto
Settings
Network Update
Search For Update
Found Update (1MB)
It will then download it,
X to install
Your PSP will goto a Black screen and ask you to download Sonys 4.1 FW
it will download it, and then press X to install.
IT looks like sonys offical installer but it isnt so dont worry.
ONCE COMPLEATE MAKE SURE YOU PRESS X
To make sure it's worked goto system settings and then system info
It should look like this
System Name - Lehart
System Version - 4.01 M33-2
MAC - 00:00:00:00 (Yours will be different, and the is a fake one)
if it says 4.01 then you have downloaded and installed sonys Offical Firmware and you will have to use Pandora to downgrade

to follow what lehart said, yes you need a wireless point. If you can't get that, use this guide.

If he has 3.71 he can't updatee viaa M33 network updatee....that was added to 3.80 M33 not to 3.71...alsoo the updatee would not be 1mb because it will need to download the 4.01 Eboot which is like 24Mb and then download the M33-2 update which is the one that's 1mb
and to prove thiss...here is what's posted in Dark Alex's website
" Since 3.80M33, you can download new M33 firmwares updates via the Network Update feature released at 3.80M33.
Otherwise, download it via this webpage as usual."
I think you should just fallow the guide mrgooey gave u

yeah the M33-2 Update is 1MB that is what i mean
When i went to the Update it said please have 1MB free space.
Then It downloaded the Actual 4.1 Update which is around 23MB
and then it install M33-2 over that update, which looks like Sony's Offical updater.
But yeah you need to upgrade to 3.80 M33 to be able to use the Updater and you also need a WIFI connection.
I just use my BT Homehub as mine. You will also need your WEP/WPA key ready (IF needed).

It is sony psp-20004PB, purchased only last week. Its firmware at the time of purchase was 3.xx (i didnt remember exact number). But after that i updated now to 4.05 from playstation site.
I think i done a mistake by updating it. Now i want to know whether i could possible to make a majic stick + pandora battery and possible to play downloaded iso/cso games as described in this following thread
2- (Some newer SLIM TA-088 Motherboard PSP untis can not be flashed with custom firmware)
How i could understand which type the motherboard i have?
Regarding magic memory stick it is ok, i already downloaded the 3 part files, and i have already orderd for a Pandora battery (TOOL) and will be get me by the end of this week.
Pls reply me whether i could go head with as per the above link. I am i a confusion when i gothrough so many threads regarding this.
Tanks in advance

@sadeedp, I'm very sorry for not replying, I have other things to do. As long its under 3.95 firmware, it should work fine. Use the Unviersal Unbricker Guide.
Note that you need a a ms smaller than a 4GB and a win xp.
@uklayte,
It is the button on the Left Side of the PSP ... The top one. It should say "L" on it.
