FEDORA 9

REQUIRMENTS

Sony PS3 with latest Firmware
Monitor/Flat screen-TV connected through HDMI
USB keyboard/Mouse connected to the PS3
Storage Media
Wired Ethernet connection

Fedora 9 PPC DVD - Bittorent or Direct Downloading Fedora 9
p.s. Make sure to verify the Fedora 9 iso file when/after burning. If not problems will occur while installing.I used Ashampoo Burning Suite 8 to burn my Fedora 9 PPC Iso file.

Kboot - kboot 20080201.bld or kboot-20080609.bld KBOOT
Rename kboot-***.bld to "otheros.bld"

INSTALLATION

Format PS3 - Use Quick or Full Format
Allot 10GB to Other Os

Storage Media - Make a folder "PS3"(caps) > "otheros"(lowercase) Without Quotes
Put Kboot file otheros.bld in "otheros" folder
Insert Media into PS3
XMB to go Settings and Install Other OS
Remove Media when done

Boot OtherOs - Insert Fedora 9 DVD
XMB go to Settings > Default System > OtherOs
Wait until you see a Kboot and a flashing dash
Push Enter on your Keyboard to start the Fedora setup

Skip Check Media
Welcome to Fedora
Select Language
Select Keyboard Layout
If installing a fresh system select "Yes" to the question Would you like to initialize this drive, erasing ALL DATA?
Network Device - Select eth0 and de-select Wlan0
Select manually if you know how to configure
Select nearest city/city you live in
Create root password, at least 6 charaters in length
Select "remove linux partition on selected drives and create default layout"
Select Next and write changes to disk
Select Office and Productivity for basic install
Install takes about an Hour so grab a book to read
Select Reboot

You are good to go! Later.
