Hi guys - new to the forum but have been using shrink successfully for years. Heres my problem.
Old method of converting and creating dvds
1.convert avi to mpeg 1 pal 720X576 using win avi
2. add the resulting mpeg files to the old version tmpgenc-dvd [approx 4 films to 1 disk - brings the size up to 8-9gig
3 shrink the resulting to fit on single layer dvd - result - perfect!

Now the new way

1. using tmpgenc dvd authour3, take avi file and create a dvd [i chose to convert to mpeg1 rather than mpeg layer2 to save space]

3 shrink the [now 6 films in 1] dvd

result - film jumps up and down on the screen - similar to a sticky shutter on film projecters ??????

if i don't use shrink and only put 3 films on the disk - all is fine

has anyone any ideas what it is i'm doing wrong?
thanks in advance
Andy

Too much compression (6 films on 1 disc) stay with 3 films on 1 disc

The BPI Are: SONY, UNIVERSAL, WARNER GROUP, EMI.
The RIAA Soundexchange Are: SONY, UNIVERSAL, WARNER GROUP, EMI.
The IFPI Are: The same anti consumer lot as listed above!
The MPAA Are: SONY, UNIVERSAL, WARNER GROUP, DISNEY, PARAMOUNT, FOX.

Or try burning a Dual Layer disc.

Costwise...i'd stick with leaving it at 3 films per disc.

ok done some research here -
using the old method, put 8 films on 1 disk!
had to run it through dvd shrink 3 times before it would fit - naturaly, the quality is dire - with severe pixcellation - trouble is, it still plays in my standalone player

using te new method, put 1 film onto a disk ran it through shrink - no compression - plays in my stand alone player

same film same setup run through shrink - custom ratio set to 99.5% -the least compression available
not playable =- jumps up n down as bad as if heavily compresed

so - nope ts not the compression

anyone else?
