My kids ps3 started freezing up, and now it will not do anything. I have tried holding the power button down until it beeps and I get nothing. It was hooked up with AV cables, so I took it to a different TV and tried with the HDMI cable and still no picture. The green light still comes on and I can hear the fan running. I can not find my receipt, so if I can't find out what to do, I'm pretty much screwed. Any help or suggestions?
If you know its under warranty, then hope you find the receipt of if you paid by a credit card, get the statement if possible. I'm saying this because the system is broken, it needs to be replaced. This is a problem with a small number of PS3s and Sony does know about it. If you can't find your receipt for your life, just give them a call, If they see the console manufacture date is < 1 year, they should replace it free of charge
I called up EB Games and gave them my serial #. They said that they can pull up my receipt and fax it to Sony for me and everything will be cool. Thanks for your suggestions.
