I know that with any video compression you theriredicly lose video quality. I was just wundering what the sweet spot is for video compression is for dvd shrink and 1 click dvdcopypro. Basicly what is the copression percentage before you start to expierence quality loss?

I think I read someware on this site that for dvd shrink 55% or better is what you shoud aim for to avoid quality loss.

So I am guessing that if that is true then ideal compressin with one click dvdcopypro is 45%

any thoughts?

If my compression ratio falls below 70% I use DVD Rebuilder...there is really no rule of thumb as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Only you can determine what your willing to accept on your setup and this will change with each title that you backup.

EDIT: If you want hard numbers this would be a fairly accurate breakdown of compression ratio and AEC enhancements found in DVD Shrink.

99%-90 = Maximum Sharp
89%-80 = Sharp
65%-79 = Smooth
<65% = Maximum Smooth
