i want to convert an avi file to mpg so i can put it on to a dvd+r im useing tmpgnc and it says the file wont fit on to a disc and i cant get the bar at the bottom to go under 100 its just to big how can i reduce the size and what program should i use thanks for your time

I presume you are using TMPGEnc to convert to mpeg2. Then DVD Author version of the same program to convert to VOB format. At that point it is not needed to get the movie to fit onto disc. When you open a compression tool like DVD Shrink, that problem will be solved
