i hooked the ethernet cable line from my router to my ps3 and it didnt work. so i called playstation network they said call my internet cable provider for the ip address and DTU address or wutever so i can enter them in manualy since automatic wusnt workin. so i did and comcast is sayin ip addresses change they cant give me 1.... so how am i suppoose to enter it in manually when it doesnt make sense then?

try putting your ps3 in a dmz, ip addresses change if you havn't set a static ip.
try doing this.

Yes, you Comcast IP will change frequently. Thats ok.
You can however set your PS3 to a static IP and let your router know what your PS3's IP is.

From the way you worded your problem, you have a Comcast Modem and a Router after that.??

ninreznor i folowed ur guide its very helpful but iv searched my modems page (Arris) and it doesnt say anythin about dmz...whats the problem??
