Ive just turned my xbox on to find that there is a dashboard update, whats it all about ?

i looked about on the net and it says that the update is just in preperation for the new xbox experience

i can confirm that there is an update
EDIT: I just accepted the update and after the 360 restarted i was able to connect to live again with no problems. i am ASSUMING all is safe.
here is what major nelson had to say about this.
A few minutes ago, the team released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you?ll recieve a prompt to accept this mandatory update. This update contains code to ?prepare for future growth of the service.? There are no other changes or enhancements in this update?in other words no new features.
To be clear: This is not the new Xbox experience update. That will come in the Fall.

And the last time they said this, the banhammer dropped a day after the "real" dash update.
I think it's time to start collecting info again for them.

well i am assuming since this one (update) seems to be fine, that someone is in the works of making a hacked FW to work with the new dash that is supposodly not available, but i have managed to see it once or twice :) since that dash is "around" i could only imagine the amout of people all over this right now. especially after they saw the update today, i am sure the know it is time to start doing some serious codeing. i hope it isnt the end of my modded xbl experience, but if it is, so be it. Just to give you guys a heads up, if i am around I will probablly try the new dash update on mine first if there is no news within 12-24 hours. i have 2 boxes now, so i am willing to contribute to the scene when this all goes down. Hope that makes you feel a little easier about this whole thing. later, homesick-

Hey you don't have to yell, everyone can hear you so use your inside voice. Seriously if you ask for help or ask a question and then your annoying and mean to everyone, you're gonna get two things.
-you're going to get what you dish out back to you
