Hi, I've burned tons of movies with this software and hardly ever have any issues, but I just came up with an error that I cannot figure out. When it's encoding, it gets about 70% done and then I get an "out of memory" error. I have never seen this before either. I tried full back-up and then I tried just parts of it...it's a work-out dvd. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Saw this protection about 2 years ago. Soooo

1) rip movie to HDD with dvdfabHd (free)
2) open file with shrink and do as you wish

The Cardinal iluvendo has laid out good advice for you.

What movie is it, out of curiosity?

It's Turbo Jam...a work-out dvd for my wife. It's 2 discs and the 1st one worked fine...that's why i was confused.

Dvdfab rips Turbo Jam easily. I had done the disks a few months ago. I don't believe I had much compression with shrink at all.

Based on that i'd say iluvendo was right on.

What you're encountering is most likely a form of copy protection that Shrink can't handle by itself.

I remember getting this DVD Shrink error only after installing a version of DVD Fab Decrypter that had a bug. As soon as I went to the next version of DVD Fab, the memory error went away!

I run fixvts before using dvd shrink. It seems to 'clean' the results a bit.

As do i. It's a good idea to clean the rip up a bit before transcoding.
