I have an AVI file (DivX encoded) that I'd like to burn to DVD so that it plays in a regular DVD player.
I checked your guide titled "How to Convert DivX to DVDR with DVD2SVCD" which can be found at the AfterDawn site in the Guides section here.
I have the software mentioned in the guide, namely:
- DVD2SVCD (which contains AVI2DVD ver 1.2.3)
- AviCodec (to get info about the AVI file)
- Cinema Craft Encoder SP (version 2.7)
- Nero
I am running into a problem, because the guide was written for CCE SP version 2.5, while I have version 2.7. Specifically, it seems that the program assumes I need EclCCE, which I don't, seeing that I am using version 2.7. If I follow the instructions and try encoding, the program crashes at the step where it calls CCE SP to do the encoding.
DVD2SVCD came with the program D2sRoBa, which I guess is supposed to automagically set defaults for coding with CCE, but this program also is based on CCE SP version 2.5, and it crashes in the same way if I try to use it with 2.7.
I know that there is nothing wrong with my CCE SP 2.7 installation, since I have used it to encode directly from DVD material, using DVD Rebuilder.
I am wondering if anyone knows where to find updated instructions for using DVD2SVCD with CCE SP 2.7.
Alternatively, I am willing to try other software in place of DVD2SCD, provided that it will work with CCE SP 2.7.
