First off, I want to thank Odin24 and ooZEROoo. I wouldnt be able to do this without there help.
Here is a complete guide on How to backup bluray movies to an external HDD, and play them on your PS3.
You will need:
1.A Bluray drive on your pc
2.tsMuxer 3.AVCHD.EXEhttp://www.mediafire.com/?ywt2wysnzb1 4.ANYDVDHD From slysoft (you may not need this. I believe its to take out the protection key on the bluray discs. In this guide you will not be using it, although its installed.
5.External hard drive formatted at FAT32. note: PS3 reads FAT32 drives only. Each file cant be larger than 4gb.
After you install these tools. Start with these steps.
Step 1. Insert blu ray disc in blu ray drive on your PC.
Step 2. Run Tsmuxer. Load the main movie m2ts file from stream folder in your disc drive (which is the largest file). Once it loads into tsmuxer, check only the main movie and which ever audio stream you desire. I choose AC3. Use the Split feature, split to 4GB chunks. Then press create to bluray.
Destination should be on your external HHD, in a folder named AVCHD.
Then click on demux.
When tsmuxer is done, you should have (BDMV) and (Certificate) folders inside the AVCHD folder.
Step 3. Run AVCHD-ME, place it in the AVCHD folder with the BDMV and Certifcate folders and run the application, doing so will rename each file and will trick the PS3 into thinking your "AVCHD" folder is an actual disc.
Then delete AVCHD-ME from there.
Step 4. Plug your External HHD into your PS3. Locate your usb port for the external HHD. Under Video Hit X on AVCHD. And your movie should start right up. Please note there will be a slight delay each time it goes to the next movie clip. Should be at around 28 minutes.
Step 5. Have fun. Any questions, feel free to ask.
I thought it would be cool to share this with you all. Once again, I couldnt do it without the help from Odin24 and ooZEROoo. Thanks again guys
You can also use the ps3 sak in place of the pc bluray drive and extract the m2ts out of the iso using isobuster. Then you can follem the rest of the above tips. For those of you that don't know the sak means Swiss Army Knife utility. It takes the place of PS3 linux and can dump Bluray isos over a network to your computer.
