now i know i can use a cable to connect my psp to my tv but at the same time can i get the ps3 controller to work aswell so i have the option not to use the psp joypad, or the option to play 2 player.

The two player option doesn't work, but with that "joystick" I think you have to hard mod your PSP so the controller can connect on your PSP.
I haven't seen anyone that does dis.

Hey I just found a way how to do it on YouTube.U will need Your computer, a PSP, an USB for PSP to computer an PS3 sixaxis controller and the wire that connects PS3 to sixaxis that it's no mote wireles [I don't know what's the name of the wire cause i don' have the PS3, anyway, you will need to connect PS3 sixaxis with that cable to your PSP usb.Hope this helps- Here is the video on YouTube and read the description- LINK; )
