So I own 60GB PS3...1 year warranty is up and I need to know if its worth paying $200 to repair it or not. Hopefully problem can be solved without sending it in. Any help appreciated.

I have a non high-def TV in my room. My PS3 was working fine till one day I switch it on and the picture was very dim/loss of color somewhat. I thought it was my TV settings or the color settings but tried my old PS2 and it worked perfectly fine with the same audio/video component cables used by the PS3 as well. Now I know it could be a recent update I downloaded? or over heating issue? but then the system wouldn't even have audio or turn on then right?

So here's where it gets worse, i tried the other TV (not high def as well) and theres NO picture there at all, just audio, and a message displaying "loss of video signal" (video signal isn't being detected). The weird thing is I have somewhat/just barely playable picture on the TV in my room lol. The following is a summary of my issue/steps taken to possibly fix it and didn't work:

- PS3 audio is perfectly clear, just video loss.

- Tried master reset holding down the reset button, etc. still no picture.

- checked video settings inside PS3 options menu and NOT on HDMI settings, just on regular component cable settings.

- plugged in PS2 to same video channel settings and the PS2 works perfectly fine, so I know its not a TV issue.

- Switched the regular component cables with that of my old PS2 (same component cables are used on both PS2/PS3) and still got no picture
