Hey I recently bought a 22inch LCD monitor with HDCP support and was wondering how can i use this with my PS3. I know i need a dvi to hdmi connector but will affect quality. Also what can i do about sound because i'm pretty sure the monitor does not come with built in speakers. Thanks

I just hooked my monitor up a few hours ago, and no it doesn't effect quality. What I did was bought a 5.1 surround sound system with optical input from walmart for 150 bucks and ran the audio through the surround via the optical cable.

If you just wanted bare bones audio though you could run the existing red and white cables and hook them up to a pair of computer speakers with an adaptor.

But trust me 5.1 is amazing and not that expensive, and fairly easy to setup. Besides it looks slick witht he ps3 if you get a system that is gloss black aswell.

Yeah I have 22" samsung I bought on black friday until I can afford better. HDMI to DVI has no worse picture than HDMI to HDMI. I also use an optical cable with the sony 5.1 I got a few years ago. Anything decent will work for sound but 5.1 is so nice.
