Yes, tomorrow Sony is cutting the price of the PS3 to $199. Due to the constant complaining from broke thirteen year olds Sony has decided to switch up their entire business strategy.

LOL. $399 is cheap and if you can't afford that price then you shouldn't be gaming this generation.
The 360's $199 tag seems cheap but if you factor in other things its really not.
For $199.00 you get the console, a wired controller, and a few Xbox live games. Also you will need a HDD which could run you another $100 if not more. The theres Xbox live which is another $50. Wifi is another $80 to $100 if you decided to set your system up wirelessly.
So far its:
$199 - console
$100 - HDD 20GB
$ 90 - Wifi
$ 50 - XBox live /year
Please also consider that the 360 is till unreliable as the only thing that MS changes since the RRoD issue is the positioning of the RAM. Any new 360 that's out in the market is still vulnerable to the RRoD.
Now the PS3 for $399 you get a built in 80 GB HDD (upgradable), Wifi, Blu Ray Player. and access to online gaming for free. Best value for your money IMO.

The price of a PS3 will go down. That's an eventuality.

Or were you looking for a timeframe?

If your looking at a price cut between now and xmas. I believe Sony was not planning on one. BUT never say never. Again $399 is very reasonable IMO.
