So I got that right? You boot the GCN with PSO, rip the game via the BBA, burn the File with Nero or something similar, solder the chip, flash the bios, boot with the chip and some original GCN-Disk, remove it and insert the burned Disk and then you are able to play any burned game?

How do you want to connect it to the cube? The Viper-chip has only a parallel port. Theres nothing like an USB-, Firewire, IDE or whatever-Port you could use on the cube or the chip so far...
Maybe sometime you could use the high-speed port under the cube, but not now...

I think, that would be too slow. But the most important thing is, that at the moment there's nothing in the BIOS that could cope with any external drive.

INTROLUX: Did you use a Ritek MINI DVD-R or a regular size? I would really hate to have to take the cover off of my GC every time I want to play, but those mini dvd-Rs are so unpredictable.

i used standard DVDrs BUT the best mini DVD-rs at the moment which work for virtually every one are the ones with dvd code prodisc03. they work a treat buying a bunch to test on my cube. and yes you need to use 1 original game to do the disc swap. it can be from any region.

hope this helps, oh and i use bulpaq dvd-rs with ritek dye

cheers

When do you swap the disc? Also, what BIOS are you using?

Also, how do you play games with the cover off? Doesn't the lid have to be closed to read the disc?

I think the Mod chip bios makes so you don't need to close the lid...Im in Canada and went to Futrue Shop(owned by BestBuy same store almost) and the mini dvd-r are big time money...like 20$ a disc..they have fugi film and sony...

I know this may sound rediculous but I think I read somewhere that if you cut a CD before you burn it, it will still burn properly. Considering fullsize DVDs seem more compatible and are cheaper, did anyone try this yet?

Oh, and just to save my ass here in case anything happens: Im not liable for anything that goes wrong yadda yadda yadda
