ok,

from reading this thread it seems a lot of people including myself have a....

PSP_GAME (FOLDER)

and a

UMD_DATA (FILE)

HOW DO WE USE THESE TWO THINGS TO CREATE AN ISO (FILE)

which we can then place in the ISO (folder) and use umdemulator to play the game!

so will someone enlighten us less knowledgable people how we can do this

many many thanks!!!

Hey

You guys must be getting sick of people like myself, always asking the same question but....

Im having major problems playing games on my psp (like the rest of the world), i can get a select few working alright, but ive got more than a pile that just crash when i select them in the UMD Emulator V0.8C menu, i have tried the suggested option changes and even tried the trick with devhook, but still no luck.

I was wondering could it possibly be the UMD i have in the drive, that effects it? (its the only variable left i can think of). Im using Hot Shots Golf. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks

Hey
i decided to reformat my memory card and star again fresh, more games seem to be working, so hopefully it was just a mistake of my behalf. Thanks anyway.

Hi guys.. have U read the first page of this thread?
I really sure @GR13 has write a complete guide to play ISO on the Firmware V1.5 (U can't play ISO on V1.5 upward, ex. 1.51, 1.52 or 2.00)

U don't need to extract the RAR file (icon 3 books with a belt), just put that file on the ISO folder that U should create on the PSP root.

And U also need DEV HOOK and Umdemulator. If u don't have this program, download it at http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/13, and read @GR13'guide to work with it.

good luck

@krazyg13.. what game do U play? Some games may be not working with UMDemulator. U can get the list of compatible game for UMDemulator from here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/269325#1655380

or maybe U should change the UMDemulator setting to play the game. Read previous page of this thread, U'll find the way to work with it.

Good luck

@krazyg13............look at your settings. you may have system menu on iso emulation mode. Choose direct load or if that don't work use copy load. Hope this helps you.
Sucks that StreetFighter3 Double Upper don't work with the iso loaders :( Oh well, just keep playing my guilty gear reloaded.

Anybody here get a chance to load Lord of the Rings Tactics successfully. Tried variety of ways but all I can do is load it up to the copyright screen and it shuts down my psp. Tried using fastloader too and no luck. Or is this a game that uses a newer firm version?

@sean12........when you go to the memory stick icon (under the game icon)in your psp menu, you will have 2 files there: the umdemulator and a corrupted data. Click on the umdemulator and when it boots you will see the umdemulator options where you can change the settings. Use copy or direct load in the emulation mode to boot your game.

@gwadhwa.......use direct load or copy load in the emulation mode to load your game. I load those games fine and without freezing. If you can't still load them, use dev hook to boot it up. I think you can find a guide in the forum on how to use umdemulator and dev hook trick.

@sean12.....umdemulator 0.8c only works for firmware version 1.5 and having updated your psp to 2.01 makes umdemulator useless. As of now, there is no downgrade from 2.01 to 1.5

@gwadhwa.....here is the settings I used for umdemulator 0.8c to load FIFA 2006

CPU/Bus Speed: 333/166 MHz
Iso emulation mode: direct load
Disc type ISO: game
Disc type UMD: game
Updater icon: original
Use boot.bin: on
Regioncode override: on
Region code game/video/audio: regionfree
Flash0 emulation: on
Flash1 emulation: off

make sure you have a UMD disc in your psp at all times or this won't work. Try using copy load if it still freezes. If this still won't work, change the ISO emulation mode to system menu and choose the fifa game. After choosing FIFA, the umdemulator will bring you back to the psp main menu. go to game icon and choose memory stick but this time use dev hook to boot the FIFA game. Hope this solve your problem.

could be a bad iso file. Try downloading a different one. This could solve your problem.

@gwadhwa..........once the umdemulator 0.8c brings you back to the psp main menu, you have to go back to the psp/game/mem stick and choose dev hook. Boot dev hook up and choose the game.

Hi,

I have read every page of this thread and am still unable to use UMDEmulator v0.8c
Note I have version 1.5
I started out with fastloader 0.7 which works fine.
I installed UMDEmulator v0.8 and then UMDEmulator v0.8c when the first didn't work.

Fastloader and UMDEmulator use the same location for the ICO folder so I can leave the ICO files that work with Fastloader in the same place. When I try and load them in UMDEmulator v0.8c the psp will freeze then turn off. I have tried all the load options, direct, copy and system (which turns off then has the normal umd game load when restarts.

Yes I am also using a UMD (Ridge racer) which is in the system all the time.

Technically I can just use fastloader but I am now worried why UMDEmulator v0.8x wont work.

Any help or advice would be great, thanks in advance.

@gwadhwa......my copy of FIFA 06 works fine. Mine is a back up copy of my UMD. Dumped it from my psp and then shrunk it to around 350 MB.
