I have read several post about the re-shrink process, but none seem to be specific and easy to follow. Can someone please take the time to explain the step by step process to re-shrink for this "loopy newbie". Also whether or not the full disc is "shrunk" the first time and then re-shrunk, or is it only shrinking the "green portion" of the bar only.Oh yeah how bad is the quality on the re-shrink process is it noticeable.Could really use some "in the know" because do not.
Thanks in advance

assuming the files are on the HDD
1) open files on top toolbar of shrink
2) click back up button on top tool bar
3) select on target screen, save files as hard disc folder (note name of folder, or set name your self)
4)click ok to back up
5) wait for back up to finish
6 restart back up proceedure again on previous back up target
note: the more you compress the data, the more degredation of the image occurs. Personally I do not like to compress data to below 80% of origional size

Thanks for the response, I know what screen your refering to, but I never get that far. I get a "target size exceeded" message that prevent the regular pop up of this window. The movie is 7.49 gigs and seems as though I've burned movies this size before. but I'm getting about 10% red bar. I have custom set the target size 4300 in preference and the compression is set to automatic. yet I still get the error message. Ran through Dvd decrypter and that didn't work than tried dvd fab hd and that didn't work. So I searched re-shrinking with error and they said to just push "ok" and then re-shrink but no one explain whether or not the full disc would exist after accepting ok on the first shrink.

thanks guys/ 1bonehead I reset with still no success and rtm27 I don't quite understand, just say "ok" or "yes" to the error window "target size exceeded". If so, will I still have the full disc going into the secound shrink.
thanks in advance

yes you will still have to full disk the second go around. I had done it twice when I went to copy the old cartoon show 'speed racer' onto disks.

thanks rtm27, you and 1bonehead bought be some time on purchasing more shrink software. But when that time comes. what do you suggest. Is there another "free one" that will handle say a lord of the rings size movie-full disc or at best a very inexpensive one.

Try the free version of DVD Rebuilder.

I agree with dialysis, if you don't mind the wait (time depends on system specs) then DVD Rebuilder is excellent for higher compression movies. The results are very nice.

If you use shrink, do not use nero 8 as they are incompatible
Best is to use nero 7
