I have been using Shrink for years and have just run into a problem I have never "heard" before. I am doing reauthoring and removing segments from a movie. When I playback the edited movie at each point where I have spiced the segments there is an audio overlay and I hear the word "spliced". Never seen thisbefore. Is there an option to suppress this incredibly annoying "feature?"

What program are you using for removing segments?
You're saying that DVD Shrink is putting audio that doesn't exist into the video?
Impossible!
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

I am working right within Shrink. It allows you to pick the start and end frame of a title. So you drag and drop the same title into the re-authoring window and then you can remove unwanted segments. As I am playing back the sliced movie exactly at the end of each point of the splice there is male voice that is rapid but it says "spliced". I have never had this happen before. I was very surprised!

Same one I have been using for years! I know it sounds bizarre but I am able to replicate this. It is very very strange.

First off DVD Shrink does not splice. That would be where 2 or more videos are joined together. Shrink makes individual titles. I think you're pulling our legs.

I agree
I'm inclined to agree as well. I've searched quite a bit for anything remotely similiar to this. Nada. Not to mention the astute information from Dialysis.

I guess that would depend on your definition of "splice". Shrink can indeed be used to edit out segments of movies or recorded television programs (i.e. commercials) and rejoin the indivividual titles as one single title. I do it routinely to remove TV commercials. When done properly the resulting video appears almost seamless. There are guides available for making a "compilation" DVD with Shrink. You call it what you want, but by definition "splice" refers to "joining or uniting different segments".

As to the sound of a male voice saying "splice" when reauthoring a commercial DVD when using the authentic DVD Shrink, listen to my male voice as I rapidly say,"Baloney"!

Here you go:
