Hi guys as within the past days i've came to a method which is the best suitable way to rip dvd's straight onto the ps3 hard drive.
Also they will be uncompressed files to get 100% quality as to compressed files its not that good and takes too long to compress so with this tutorial you can save your self many many hours.

The reason why you never rename the .vob to .mpeg because once you load it to the ps3 as i've experienced the ps3 cant detect how long the movie is and therefore you can forward and rewind but as soon as you press play it freezez due to the player is unknown of the movie time length.

Also with that method you will find you movie start to soon or ends half way or sometimes it will transfer half the file.

First things you need is....

VOB2MPEG

DVD DECRYPTER

You can search in goodle and find it anywhere.

RIPIT4ME

Same thing search through google and you can find it.

HFS File Server

Google this as well its everywhere.

Now basically i'll explain what each one does and what its used for.
You can use programs like DVDFAB and MAGIC DVD RIPPER but im using the free way and its work perfectly fine as to i find dvd decrypter rips really faster than dvdfab.

VOB2MPEG is used to convert you vob file to mpeg instead of renaming it and doing it the dodgey way.

DVD DECRYPTER will be used to rip your dvd to the hard drive as to the program RIPIT4ME is linked automatically to dvd decrypter so you would use RIPIT4ME to do a one click rip and it will open dvd decrypter and do all the hard work for you.

HFS FILE SERVER is used to send the files to the ps3 as to i tried red kawa and others and i found that HFS is really fast when sending 5gb + files to the ps3.
It takes me 9min to send a 7 gb file with HFS so i highly reconmend this.

Ok once you have these files and the dvd you want to rip then we are ready to start.

Note that this will work really fast if you use pc dvd rom instead of a laptop as to the read speed is half the amount of a pc.

Firstly open RIPIT4ME -
Then load the dvd you want to rip.
Now click on CLICK MODE then the option will come up.
On clean up VOB setting ensure all 3 boxes are ticked.
Then go down to RIPPING SETTINGS and select MOVIE ONLY.
If you want you can go down the bottom and change your subtitle stream or audio track but i leave it as it is.
You can also change your target directory if you like.
Then click next.

And it will open up dvd decrypter and do everything by its self so no need to touch anything until finished.
Once dvd decrypter has finished it will go back to RIPIT4ME and clean up the vob files and unnessesary files.

Then it will try to open up dvd shrink but thats to do some authoring or so because dvd shrink links up with RIPIT4ME as well.
I dont use it because im only ripping the main movie and shrink is used for more advanced users to take out certain shows or series.
So dvd shrink you dont need at all.

Once you have completed this open up VOB2MPEG.
You have have 2 sections which one says FOLDER CONTAINING VOB SETS and the others folder to write the mpegs to.

Click on the right hand corner icon which looks like a folder and locate the dvd you ripped or where you saved the folder using ripit4me.

Once you have done that select the folder to which you want to save the mpeg to.

Then select START now sometimes when you do this the first time it will say something like VOB SETS DONE but if this happens just click start again and it will start working on you VTS_01.

Note:

If you want to dvd's to come out properly when converting to mpeg do not change the file split settings in dvd decrypter as to VOB2MPEG works much better if the vob files are split and save your self the headache and keep them split instead of 1 vob file which i experienced doesn't always work.
If they are split then its guranteed.

When its finished it will says COMPLETED 1 VOB SETS.

Now for the file transfer section.

Now open up HFS and an address will appear in the white bar and make note of it.
Open up HFS and click on the left where it says OPEN IN BROWSER.
Now the address will look something like this,

This is the address you will use in the ps3 web browser.

When you installed HFS it would have asked you if you wanted to add ADD TO HFS when you right click i said yes to make it easier to right click on the folder i want to share to the ps3 and select ADD TO HFS.

Once you open up your ps3 web browser you type that address in and you can see the folder your sharing and go along to the mpeg and right click on it and "save as" to the ps3 hard drive.

Note:

The PC cannot be directly connected to the ps3 it must use a router and also ensure firewall settings are off to save the hassle of posting threads of why it isn't working.

Most preferbly use wired connection instead of wireless to ensure a stable speed.

Now most people use windows media player 11 sharing but thats really slow where HFS i transfer at about 9MBPS which is ultra fast compared to red kawa.

I noticed with HFS to sustain fast transfer when you download through the ps3 browser dont close the windows or select download in background as to its drops about 4MBPS even on the PC dont do anything else and let it transfer the file and you will see how fast it is.

Also turn of signing in in the ps3 as to that can cause a slight drop.

There you go to rip a dvd takes about 13 min then to convert to mpeg takes 5 min and to transfer takes about 6 - 9 min.
I seen threads of people saying it took hours to transfer and all but here is the best possible way instead of using those DVD 2 PS3 programs which takes 80min plus to decrypt to mp4.
